How to Make it Easier for your Customers to Write a Google Review

by Lindsay Meade on April 10, 2018

We all know that Google Reviews are crucial for digital marketing, online searching and SEO. In our last blog post we talked about the best practices of asking your customers for reviews. Now, we will address how to make it as easy as possible for them to write one. It starts with creating a custom link that directs people to a screen where all they have to do in type in their review and press send. Thankfully, Google makes this possible!

Step 1

Open up the Google Places API.

Step 2

Enter your business name in the "Enter a Location" field.

Step 3

Select your business from the dropdown list. The place ID will be displayed.

Place_ID

Step 4

Using the following URL, insert your business' Place ID in place of the brackets at the end of the URL.

https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=<place_id>

For example: https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ChIJBR3G8LJqkFQRWD2Wzn0qG3c

You have now created your own unique Google Review direct link!

What shows up when someone clicks on your link? Your business information will be visible in the background. In the foreground, a box will popup where they will leave a 1-5 star review and leave comments.

It's that simple!Screen Shot 2018-04-10 at 1.10.33 PM
