The guy or girl throwing the party - that their parents approved of course - was telling everyone that they wanted to be there all about it and how great it was going to be. The excitement and the legend of this party that hadn’t even happened yet continued to grow to epic proportions the more people talked about it!

Ok, maybe you experienced a scenario like that growing up and maybe you didn’t. The point is - and I think you could easily agree - that the more people talk about something and the more you see and hear about it, the more interested you become in checking it out and seeing what all the hoopla is about.

Why Your Internal Team Needs To Get Onboard

A common thing we see in our industry when it comes to social media and online marketing is, a lot of people are caught up and concerned with the “vanity metrics” - how many likes, favorites, re-pins, shares or comments they have - but not concerned with making sure their internal staff or sales teams are doing what they should to help promote that social content and engagement. The reason this internal engagement is so important is, that it gets the momentum necessary started, to get in front of the right people …. the people that have the money to spend.

It's also a great idea to stay consistently engaged in your copier dealerships social marketing so you can keep a finger on the pulse of any possible complaints and handle them accordingly. But I'm Busy.... I Don't Have Time To Mess With Social Media

Engaging in your copier or managed services dealership's online marketing efforts doesn’t have to require a lot of time. Thirty minutes or less per day is plenty of time to check in on the latest posts from your dealership on Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ or Facebook, click the comment or share button and make a quick, intelligent comment. Doing this over time establishes your credibility with your prospects.

In the past the the sales reps with the best looking brochures and other collateral may have had an edge, but today - in a time whenever people are looking for quick and easily digestible knowledge - the sales reps that are continually providing that on a routine basis are becoming the “go-to” individuals.

Whenever a dealership's internal team - and most importantly their sales team - doesn’t get on board with liking, commenting on, and sharing the online content that is put out on their behalf to help them gain credibility with their target market, it’s just like deciding to throw a big party or event without telling anyone about it. The results from that approach are less than exciting.
